UFC sensation Jorge Masvidal has explained why he’s throwing his weight behind Donald Trump in the imminent Presidential showdown. As Americans gear up for the November 5 election day, it’s a head-to-head race between Trump and Democratic contender Kamala Harris for the coveted presidential spot.
Trump is gunning for a political comeback, aiming to reclaim the helm of the U. S. after his 2017-2021 tenure, following his defeat to the outgoing Joe Biden. The pre-election buzz shows Trump and Harris in a tight tussle in the polls.
Celebrities and notable personalities are lining up to endorse their preferred candidate, with Masvidal stepping into the ring for Team Trump. Chatting with CNN on Tuesday, the UFC fighter laid out his rationale for backing the ex-commander-in-chief.

Masvidal enthused about Trump’s political passion during the interview: “When I saw that he was going to put his heart and soul into politics and actually fight for America, it was like the best thing ever,” and praised his follow-through on promises, saying, “To see he kept a good amount of his promises. He predicted like, ‘Hey, we are going to have a border problem, if we don’t put this border up now we are going to have 20 million illegal immigrants’.
“And now the economy is doing so bad. And now they keep blaming Biden and the current administration on Trump. Like ‘Oh, he handed over a messed up economy’. I don’t know about you but I was way better off in those four years under Trump than anything now.”
Having been on the losing side in 2021, Masvidal is now convinced that men like him will rally behind Trump due to his latest campaign efforts. “What is different this year is that hard-working men like myself, and there are a lot of us.

“There are a lot of men who just wake up early and want to get to work. We are going to find a job and provide for our families. Provide for our families back home, whatever it is. Now we have this working 12 hours, 14-hour shifts every day, then at the end of the week we count to see how much money we have got.
“These same hard-working dogs are going to be like ‘No matter how many hours I put in I am still coming up considerably short’. Things are becoming considerably more expensive.”
Masvidal has previously shown his support for Trump. After his last UFC defeat in April, with Trump watching, Masvidal was defeated by Gilbert Burns at UFC 287.
In the post-fight scene, UFC President Dana White handed Masvidal the mic, who then directed his words towards Trump: “I just want to say, the greatest President in the history of the world sitting right there. I love that guy! “.
