Tom Brady’s bid to become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders is set to be discussed at next week’s NFL Fall League Meeting.

Back in May 2023, Brady submitted his bid to become a minority owner of the Raiders franchise. The seven-time Super Bowl champion already owns a piece of the WNBA‘s Las Vegas Aces which, like the Raiders, is also owned by Mark Davis.

Owners didn’t vote on Brady’s bid when they met in Orlando, Florida back in March due to concerns that the former quarterback – who is partnered with businessman Tom Wagner – was receiving too much of a discount to purchase approximately 10 percent of the Raiders from Davis. But it will be on the agenda at the Fall League Meeting, which is set for Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The meeting will take place in Atlanta, where the league’s financial committee will review Brady’s bid, which was recently improved, with a potential vote to follow. If the bid goes to a vote, Brady will need the approval of 24 of the NFL’s 32 owners.

However, if Brady’s ownership isn’t voted on at the NFL Fall League Meeting, the next opportunity for owners to do so will be at the NFL Special League Meeting from Dec. 10-11 in Irving, Texas. If Brady is approved to become a Raiders minority owner, he would also have to abide by additional NFL policies in place for owners.

Should the vote be successful, Brady would not be able to publicly criticize officials and other teams, with fines or suspensions in place if the league deems he breaks the policy. Brady must also have to abide by the league’s gambling and anti-tampering policies, and he would be strictly limited to social communication with members of other organizations.

These developments undoubtedly complicate his role with FOX Sports, with the NFL already placing restrictions on Brady. The 47-year-old is not allowed to access other team facilities and practices, as well as broadcast production meetings, which usually include meetings with coaches and players ahead of games.

Brady is in the first season of a 10-year deal worth $375 million he signed with FOX back in 2022. He is currently working with play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt on the network’s top NFL broadcasting team.
