When Cupcake was first abandoned by her owners to survive on the street, she was only a few weeks old and had no idea what was happening to her.
She was initially scared and confused. The poor pup didn’t even know where to look for food or how to find help.
Her problems would continue for a while, but then something horrible happened. She was attacked by other stray dogs and ended up with a swollen face.
If the rescuers had not arrived when they did, she probably would not have made it much longer on her own.
She Looked So Sad
When the rescuers found Cupcake, she was just sitting on the street and crying. They saw her confusion and felt really bad for her.
I mean, who knows how long she was trying to survive there? They didn’t really know how she ended up in this situation other than the fact that she was abandoned.
They immediately took her to a veterinarian clinic for a checkup as her face was completely swollen from the bites and she needed emergency care.
The vets examined her and found that she was bitten in her throat and leg. This caused a lot of fluid to build up in her face, so they had to remove the fluid.
Their first tries to remove the fluid did not work, so they decided to give her some anti-inflammatory medicine to see if that would fix the problem.
Just by looking at her, everyone was filled with such sadness. I mean, how couldn’t they? She looked so sad to be separated from her mom, and she had no one left.
However, her rescuers will not abandon her. They will make sure Cupcake gets to live the life she deserves.
The vets were happy to learn that the medicine worked and she was making an amazing recovery.
Cupcake Is A Fighter
Her mood improved significantly and she was starting to show her little tail wags. She also started eating better and gaining weight at a steady pace.
The rescuers gave Cupcake her own little bed, and it should come as no surprise that she loves spending most of her time there when she gets tired from playing.
She also became really social and is playing with other dogs from the shelter. The rescuers and the vets still continue Cupcake’s treatment.
The vets found out that she is suffering from anemia, but it’s nothing they can’t handle. Her swelling has gone down so she is doing mostly okay.
They have continued treating Cupcake and hope that she will recover soon. She was such a fighter after all.
Considering that her health had improved considerably, the rescuers took her to the clinic again to get her vaccinations.
Now that she no longer has any major issues, they decided to place her on an adoption list, so they could find her a family.
The rescuers thought it would take a while, but were surprised to learn that there was huge interest in adopting Cupcake.
She has found a forever home and is living with her new mom. After going through so much hardship and losing her mom so early on in life, I am so happy to see that she is living her best life with the most special person.
