Tom Brady is reportedly a fan of Shedeur Sanders amid speculation the Las Vegas Raiders could select the Colorado quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Raiders have endured a difficult season but surprisingly found form late. After a 10-game losing run, the AFC West franchise has won back-to-back games over the Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints to move to 4-12.

While winning is a good thing, the victories have pushed the Raiders away from the coveted No. 1 overall pick in next year’s draft. Given the inconsistent and poor play under center by Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew, the Raiders have been linked with making a move to upgrade the quarterback position this offseason.

Las Vegas could make a move for either Sam DarnoldRussell Wilson, or Justin Fields in free agency, but selecting a rookie to build around is perhaps the most likely move. Sanders is the name that continues to be linked with the franchise for a number of reasons, with both the prospect and his Hall of Famer father Deion seemingly eyeing a move to Sin City.

Sanders has been linked with the Raiders for some time, and Brady’s presence in the organization as a minority owner certainly helps. The New England Patriots icon has a relationship with Sanders; the duo trained together at the behest of Sanders’ father, Colorado head coach – and NFL legend – Deion. Sanders also signed the quarterback to an NIL deal with Brady’s apparel brand in 2022.

According to Yahoo Sports, Brady is enamored with Sanders. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is a particular fan of the quarterback’s focus on preparation, his ability to learn and adapt, his accuracy and determination in the pocket, and his toughness, as well as his ability to perform in the limelight since his noisy transfer to Colorado to play for his father Deion.

Across the 2024 season, Shedeur threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns with 10 interceptions on a nation-leading 74.2 percent completion rate. Alongside Florida’s Cam Ward, the 22-year-old represents the most intriguing quarterback prospect on offer after winning the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, which is given annually to the nation’s top upperclassman quarterback in college football, and the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award.

However, Deion will ultimately make sure his son lands with the best organization possible, with speculation suggesting he could dictate where his son plays a la Eli Manning and John Elway. When asked if Deion would step in to avoid Sanders going into a bad situation, the Colorado head coach said: “Yeah, but I’m not going to do it publicly. I’m going to do it privately.”

The Raiders appear to be one of the Sanders family’s preferred spots. Back in July, Deion told reporters he would be happy with his son going to the Raiders, insisting: “I love what (Antonio Pierce) brings to the table. I don’t want him to lose to the point where he has the ability to get Shedeur. Let’s get that straight. I don’t want that to happen, I really don’t, but I wouldn’t mind if, some kind of way, it happens that (Shedeur) is here.”

The Raiders conclude their season against the 10-6 Los Angeles Chargers in an AFC West showdown on Sunday, Jan. 5.
