Shedeur Sanders has admitted he’s delighted after discovering the order of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 22-year-old quarterback has enjoyed an impressive run at collegiate level, spending two years at Jackson State before transferring to Colorado in 2023. With 353 completions for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns across the 2024 season, Sanders found himself named as a Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, as well as receiving the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award – and enters the 2025 NFL Draft in April looking incredibly likely to be snapped up quickly.

And while Sanders hasn’t named his ideal destination, he has recently given a response when questioned about the running order of the draft. Speaking on the 2Legendary podcast, Sanders simply explained: “I love it.” When he was told that the New York Giants are no longer number one in the draft, the young up-and-comer added: “Yeah.

“But honestly bro, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking bro, and what’s meant to happen is going to happen. You know, I don’t think that God would ever put me in a place where I’m not supposed to go. We’ve made it everywhere, you know that we have went and been successful. So that’s the thing bro. I’m not paying attention to people or what these people are saying.

“Because, of course, they are going to try and degrade you. They’re going to try and paint a different picture of you and all types of stuff. But anyway, I’m happy of the order and whatever happens happens. I know at the end of the day, God is going to put me on the right team.”

At present, the Tennessee Titans are currently set for the first pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, with the Cleveland Browns in second, the New York Giants in third, the New England Patriots in fourth, and the Jacksonville Jaguars in fifth. The Las Vegas Raiders, New Yok Jets, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and the Chicago Bears make up the rest of the top ten in terms of picking order.

Recent antics from Sanders suggested that he may have had the Giants atop the list of his preferred destinations for the 2025 season, as he was spotted tossing a football around with Malik Nabors on the streets of New York and donning Giants-esque boots at the Alamo Bowl.

However, fate may have different plans for Sanders. The QB is expected to be the first overall pick of the draft, and the Titans may opt to draft him. Tennessee is expected to select a quarterback after benching incumbent starter Will Levis multiple times this season.

However, they have been heavily linked with Miami prodigy Cam Ward. Cleveland could also angle for a quarterback, especially considering it’s believed that Deshaun Watson has suffered a setback in his recovery from his Achilles injury.

The Giants could still well go for Sanders, with the New York side currently poised for a change of at QB, as Daniel Jones parted ways with the side midway through the season. And while Drew Lock has shown potential, reports suggest that the side may be considering a fresh face altogether.

Meanwhile, Sanders’ father, Deion Sanders, reportedly had his own views on where his son should spend his maiden year in the NFL. Mirror US earlier reported that Deion told Antonio Pierce to pick his sons Shedeur and Shilo in the 2025 Draft. However, with the Raiders deciding to give Pierce his walking papers, it appears as though any influence will have dissipated.
