Rory McIlroy revealed that his wife Erica Stoll prefers the charm of the UK over the unrelenting Florida heat.
The 35-year-old, who claimed a piece of Floridian paradise by purchasing his Jupiter home from iconic golfer Ernie Els in 2012, now owns a property which has reportedly seen its value soar since. Despite this, 37-year-old Stoll is keen on spending more days under British skies than amidst the tropical climate of the Sunshine State.
This domestic preference came to light in Netflix’s third season of Full Swing, which debuted on Tuesday. McIlroy shared a candid moment with Martin Kaymer during the tense aftermath of the 2024 US Open, where he fell just short of victory to Bryson DeChambeau.
Amid their exchange, it slipped out that although the notion of moving to England isn’t immediate for his wife, she is for spending more time there. McIlroy said: “If it was up to her, she wouldn’t move to England straightaway, but she definitely wants to spend more time there.” But what does McIlroy’s Floridian abode look like? Here, Mirror US take a look…
Rory McIlroy’s $22m mansion
Nestled within a sprawling 2.4-acre estate, McIlroy’s $22million Jupiter residence houses nine bedrooms and gifts occupants a staggering ten bathrooms, crowned with luxurious amenities like an infinity pool, a games room, a personal theatre, and even a recording studio to boot. Additionally catering to the athletic lifestyle, the mansion is equipped with a tennis court for sporting variety and a top-tier gym for peak fitness, reports the Irish Star.
McIlroy’s residential game is as strong as his golf swing, with a palatial home situated just 90 minutes outside of Miami. Boasting a six-car garage, the grand residence is seated next to a luscious golf course, ideal for McIlroy to fine-tune his craft amidst the scenic greens and fairways.
The house itself, built back in 2002 and secured by McIlroy in 2012 from none other than former world No. 1 Els, has reportedly seen substantial renovations in the years since. Adding to the premium South Florida vibes are scores of palm trees that enwrap the estate. Before relocating, McIlroy enjoyed his time in Palm Beach Gardens, a stone’s throw away until 2018 – when he sold his previous home for a hefty $12.9 million.

McIlroy’s property portfolio doesn’t end in Florida either. He boasts a vast mansion in La Quinta, California, holds keys to apartments in New York and the UAE, and has a 19th-century estate nestled in Northern Ireland’s County Down, a nod to his Holywood roots.
In terms of personal matters, McIlroy and Stoll last year surprised everyone by reversing their decision to divorce. After filing papers in May 2024, right before the PGA Championship kicked off, they scrapped their initial plans the following month, opting to stay together. The two have been married since April 2017, having first crossed paths five years prior.
Reflecting on their reconciled romance, McIlroy said last year: “There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

On the golf course, McIlroy has been enjoying a stellar 2025 season, currently ranked No.3 in the world. He finished tied for fourth at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January and notched his first win of the year at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this month, leading the field with a 21-under-par score.
Although his most recent outing at the Genesis Invitational resulted in a tied 17th finish, McIlroy will undoubtedly have his sights set on more victories to come – and finally landing that elusive fifth major.
