The NFL Network had to quickly correct themselves after incorrectly posting the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots’ records during their game on Saturday.

The two teams faced off in a rare Saturday afternoon game in the NFL’s regular season, with the NFL Network covering the game. However, the score bug on the bottom of the screen initially posted the team’s records incorrectly next to the score.

For much of the first quarter of the game, it read that the Chargers had a 8-6 record and the Patriots had a record of 3-11. That would have ben correct last week, but had clearly not having been updated. Both team’s have played since then, with the Chargers sitting at 9-6 and the Patriots at 3-12 entering the game.

Their records were quickly amended before the end of the first quarter – but not after the embarrassing error was noticed by many viewers tuning in.

Hundreds of fans had posted about the mistake on social media, with one writing: “Admin forgot to add last weekend’s games,” while another wrote: “Uh… NFL Network? Records are wrong.”

The Chargers could secure their playoff spot with a win over the Patriots having had an impressive first season with Jim Harbaugh as head coach after he won the National Championship with Michigan.

Harbaugh has impressed in each of his last three roles as a head coach after surprisingly leaving the San Francisco 49ers to join Michigan, where he previously had taken his former NFL team to a Super Bowl.

Justin Herbert is quietly putting together an impressive season

The Patriots, meanwhile, are heading towards another lost season with questions surrounding the future of the franchise, more specifically at the head coaching position with Jerod Mayo struggling in his first year in place of Bill Belichick. Reports have emerged in recent weeks that the Patriots could be interested in bringing back Mike Vrabel to be their head coach, alongside former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

But one area in which the Patriots will be delighted with is at quarterback, with Drake Maye impressing since coming in as the starter this season, despite being in a struggling offense with a poor offensive line and wide receiving group. The Pats will have a top pick in this year’s draft class, expected to trade down and acquire further assets to rebuild their o-line.
