Josh Allen’s credentials to be the NFL’s Most Valuable Player this season just got even stronger.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback has put up incredible numbers this season, leading the Bills to an 11-3 record ahead of Sunday’s showdown with the New England Patriots. The 28-year-old has thrown for 3,395 yards and 25 touchdowns against just five interceptions, with a quarterback rating of 103.5.
Allen has added an impressive 484 yards and 11 scores on the ground, and according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the MVP betting favorite has done it all playing through a broken hand.

Allen suffered an injury to his non-throwing hand in the Week 1 victory over the Arizona Cardinals as he leaped into the endzone for a fourth-quarter touchdown. The two-time Pro Bowler was on the injury report until the Bills returned from their Week 12 bye, but the severity of the issue was not made public.
The fact Allen has played through a significant injury to put up career-best numbers makes his production this season all the more impressive, giving MVP voters all the more reason to give the Bills QB the nod ahead of the highly impressive Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson.
Allen is the overwhelming betting favorite to be named the MVP, with DraftKings Sportsbook pricing him at -750. Two-time MVP Jackson is his closest competitor at +425 after another stellar season with the Ravens.

Jackson has thrown for 3,787 yards and 37 touchdowns against just four interceptions, with a passer rating of 120.6. But while the 27-year-old’s stats appear better on paper, there is a sense Allen has lifted his team to a level it has not reached before.
This season had the makings of a rebuilding year for the Bills with an aging roster compounded by the departure of star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.
But with an inferior supporting cast, Allen has put his team on his back and racked up 11 wins – becoming the only team to defeat Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs this season in the process. The Ravens, meanwhile, sit at 10-5 on the season despite Jackson’s incredible numbers.
Allen hopes to bolster his MVP case on Sunday when the lowly Patriots (3-11) visit Orchard Park. Jerod Mayo’s team has been among the worst in the league in all departments this season, and they have the unenviable task of facing Allen and the Bills twice in the final three weeks of the regular season.
With a game against the 4-10 New York Jets sandwiched in between next week, Allen has ample opportunities to put an exclamation point on his MVP case against two of the NFL’s weakest teams.
