Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has sent a clear message to the Miami Dolphins and his opposite number Tua Tagovailoa.
The Bills host the Dolphins on Sunday on the back of three consecutive wins after defeating the Seattle Seahawks 31-10 in week eight to extend their record to 6-2. Buffalo have been enjoying contrasting fortunes to the Dolphins this season, with Miami struggling in the absence of Tagovailoa, falling to a 2-5 record.
Tagovailoa suffered a concussion for the fourth time in his career in week two against the Bills on a tackle by safety Demar Hamlin. In his absence, Miami lost three of the four games he missed, making his return in week eight against the Arizona Cardinals but he was unable to return the team to winning ways in the 28-27 defeat.

The Bills already beat the Dolphins in the game were Tagovailoa suffered his concussion. Despite the comprehensive 31-10 victory, Allen isn’t paying attention to the numbers as he stated Miami are a better team than their early season results suggest.
“Make no mistake about it, they’re a really good football team,” the 28-year-old said. “I know their record doesn’t indicate it, but they’re playing really good football right now. So, we got to be ready for whatever they can throw at us. Got to have a good week of practice and, again, make adjustments in-game and go from there.”

The Dolphins will undoubtedly be buoyed by the return of Tagovailoa. While there were concerns over his chances of ever returning to the field giving his troubled history of head injuries, the 26-year-old sent a message to his team to stick together and get back to winning ways ahead of the Bills game.
“We’ve got to stick together as a team,” Tagovailoa said on Thursday. “We’ve got to continue to grow stronger, stay in the film room, communicate with our guys. I don’t think anything’s over until it’s actually over, so I believe we still have a shot and we can still do it. So, it starts this week against Buffalo, a really good team.”
Tagovailoa was part of the Dolphins team in 2021 that bounced back from a 1-7 start to finish the season with a 9-8 record. The signal caller reflected on his experience from that season. “Worrying about your job and what you have to do — I know that sounds cliche, but that’s exactly what we did,” Tagovailoa said. “Like the game is hard as it is, so that’s all we got to do. Just go out there and play, trust the guys that you’re playing with.”
