Joe Burrow was understandably fired up after his heroic performance led the Cincinnati Bengals to an overtime win over the Denver Broncos to keep their NFL Playoff hopes alive.
The Bengals won 30-24 after Burrow found Tee Higgins for a walk-off touchdown after it seemed their chance of victory had gone. Kicker Cade York missed a 33-yard field goal to win the game in overtime, only for the Bengals defense to give Burrow and his offense one final shot, which he duly took with both hands.
The win moves the Bengals to 8-8 and means the franchise still has a chance of making the postseason entering Week 18. Cincinnati needs to beat the Steelers next week and hope the Broncos – who could have clinched a playoff place with a win or tie – loses to the Chiefs in their last regular season game.

Burrow was 39-49 for 412 passing yards and four total touchdowns, throwing three and running one in as the Bengals came out on top. After the game, he was filmed pumping up the Bengals fans and shouting: “Let’s ——- go, man!” before heading back to the locker room.
It has been a remarkable turnaround from the Bengals after a 1-4 start to the season. After a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in October saw them fall to 3-5 on the season, Burrow declared: “We got to win seven out of nine. .That’s doable. It’s doable, so we’ll go from there.”
Since then, the Bengals have won five games, including a four-game winning streak, which has revived hopes after Burrow appeared to have given up hope following a 44-38 loss to Pittsburgh on December 1.
Burrow said after that game: “Playoffs are the furthest thing from my mind. You never know what can happen, so I’ll keep putting one foot in front of the other and try to be the best player I can be for the rest of the season, week in and week out.”
Burrow has now thrown at least 250 yards and three touchdowns in eight straight games, prompting MVP calls despite the Bengals’ record.
Speaking on NFL Network before the game, former NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew said: “I don’t want to put all the pressure on the Broncos defense. I don’t want to do that, because Joe Burrow, right now, if they make the playoffs, he’s probably going to win MVP if that happens.”.
