Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler had nothing but admiration for teammate Stephen Curry after the superstar guard put on a dazzling display, sinking 12 three-pointers en route to a 56-point performance in Thursday’s 121-115 victory over the Orlando Magic.
Following the game, Butler, who was recently acquired by the Warriors, expressed his appreciation for witnessing Curry’s brilliance up close.
“He’s fun to watch. Even more fun because he’s a huge reason we won the game,” Butler said, per The Athletic’s Anthony Slater. “I’m just glad I’m on this side of it.”
Curry’s remarkable shooting night was just one triple shy of his career-best for most three-pointers in a single game. His highlight reel included a deep, buzzer-beating shot from beyond half-court to close out the second quarter, electrifying the crowd and setting the tone for the second half.

But the fireworks didn’t stop there. In the third quarter, Curry singlehandedly outscored the entire Magic team, pouring in 22 points while Orlando managed just 21. His scoring burst helped the Warriors seize control of the game, further solidifying his reputation as one of the greatest shooters in NBA history.
“What an incredible shot going into halftime, and then to do what he did in the third quarter as well, that’s some good basketball,” Butler added.
The Warriors have been on a roll since Butler’s arrival from the Miami Heat, winning seven of their last eight games. During that stretch, Curry has been the driving force behind the team’s success, averaging an impressive 31 points per game.
With their new-look roster clicking and Curry continuing to deliver jaw-dropping performances, Golden State appears to be gaining momentum as they push toward the playoffs.
