WNBA superstar Angel Reese insisted she ‘misses’ Hailey Van Lith after commenting on the TCU star’s Instagram post following another win.

On Wednesday, Van Lith dropped 19 points with six assists and four rebounds to help TCU clinch an 80-73 win over Kansas. Her performance saw her surpass 2,000 points for her collegiate career, while she also posted her first career outing with double-digit assists.

After the game, Van Lith posted a carousel of photos showing herself in TCU gear and posing next to a fountain with a basketball. She captioned the post: “The journey is the dream 10” – along with a white heart emoji.

Chicago Sky forward Reese is a vocal supporter of Van Lith and often comments on her former teammate’s posts. She did so on the latest one, writing: “Miss ya 10.”

After establishing herself as one of the biggest stars in women’s college basketball, Van Lith spent just one year with LSU alongside Reese as she joined the Tigers from Louisville. But the 23-year-old struggled to adapt to the playmaking role bestowed upon her.

Reese and Van Lith played alongside each other for one season, helping LSU earn a 31-6 record and enter the NCAA Tournament as the No. 3 seed. However, Van Lith faced immense criticism and seemed to lose confidence, struggling throughout.

She was benched by head coach Kim Mulkey in the second round, and Van Lith struggled to keep up with Caitlin Clark in a loss to Iowa. In the offseason, Van Lith made the transfer decision to leave LSU in order to rediscover her best form.

It seems to have been the right decision. Van Lith, who represented Team USA in 3×3 at the Paris Olympics, is averaging 17.9 points per game, along with 6.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds as she enjoys a resurgent campaign in what will be her final season in college.

While Van Lith and Reese’s time together as teammates didn’t translate to dominance on the court, the duo clearly struck a bond that has lasted beyond last season. The WNBA starlet can often be seen supporting Van Lith from afar as she performs for TCU, which has proven to be a better fit for the guard as shines brighter than she did with the Tigers.

Van Lith’s 16-1 TCU is next in action against 12-5 Texas Tech on Saturday, Jan. 12.
