Shedeur Sanders appeared alongside LeBron James and Lionel Messi in a Beats By Dre commercial ahead of deciding between staying at Colorado or declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Sanders is one of the most prominent names in college football, quarterbacking the noisy Colorado Buffaloes. After losing to Nebraska back in September, Colorado has won five of the next six games to sit at a 6-2 record entering a bye this week.
Despite remaining a student, Sanders is one of the biggest names in college football and the sports world. He is the highest-earning student-athlete in terms of NIL revenue and recently appeared in a new Beats By Dre commercial with sports icons like Messi, James, and Los Angeles Dodgers star – and World Series champion – Shohei Ohtani.
Sanders involvement in the advert was particularly notable as the Colorado quarterback was the only college athlete featured, highlighting his ever-growing star power and influence both on and off the field. The collaboration with Beats builds on his relationship with the brand, which he was endorsed by before he left Jackson State to join Colorado.
While Sanders is projected to potentially be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the 22-year-old recently joked he could return to college football for a fifth season in order to maintain his NIL earnings. When asked about his plans, Sanders quipped: They said $10 million… I’ll be back.
The quarterback was ultimately implying that a significant NIL offer could convince him to stay in Boulder for the 2025 season. His playful remark raises the question of what it would take to keep him with the Buffaloes a little longer, especially with his NIL valuation reaching $6.3 million recently.

Sanders on-field performance this season has only added to his value; he has posted 2,591 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. His accuracy, in-game leadership, and composure for Colorado have helped elevate the program to sit as the No. 23 ranked team in college football.
As Sanders profile and reputation continues to grow, the notion of a substantial NIL offer to keep him for another season does seem plausible. The quarterbacks endorsements, such as Beats By Dre, highlight Sanders growing role as a sports star who is becoming increasingly visible and influential in the culture.
Sanders and the Buffaloes are set to take a week off before returning to action against 5-3 Texas Tech on Saturday, Nov. 9.
