“They had been hoping and praying for this pregnancy for a long time,” a source told People. “The day they found out Hailey was pregnant was the best day for Justin—he was beyond thrilled. It was a huge celebration for them.”
Some fans on TikTok believed that Selena subtly responded to the news by commenting on an Instagram post that read, “Wish happiness upon your enemies; if they’re happy, they’re no longer your enemies.” This comment was reportedly made just hours after Justin’s announcement, fueling speculation. According to some corners of the internet, Selena wrote, “It’s very true and makes me very happy,” though no solid evidence of this comment has surfaced. Whether TikTok exaggerated or Selena deleted the comment before it was widely shared remains uncertain.
Back in May, when Hailey and Justin initially announced their pregnancy, Selena decided to disable comments on her Instagram profile to keep the peace. “I turned off comments on my photos on Instagram to just friends only, so I feel like I’ve created boundaries to help me,” she explained to Hoda Kotb on TODAY.
“People got upset about it,” Selena admitted. “They get upset about everything.” Despite the fans’ reactions, Selena felt empowered by her decision, affirming, “This is just for me.”
