Dogs are beings that can bring us so much joy in life that it cannot be compared to anything else. However, even though they are loyal till the end, this does not mean that they have a ban on occasional mischief that can ruin the owner’s day while bringing smiles to other people’s faces.
That’s what one mischievous Shih Tzu did when she took advantage of a unique opportunity to satisfy her sweet tooth. Although the cereals she indulged in were the sweetest things she had ever tried, she had to bear the consequences when her mom saw the mess she had caused.
Covered in the contents of the cereal box she dipped into, this dog was unrecognizable until the end of one of the longest grooming sessions ever.
A Messy Situation
A woman named Heather Hunt already knew that she could expect anything from her three mischievous dogs. However, she could not have imagined what would await her one day when she returned home.
As soon as she entered the house, she was greeted by a mess in the hallway that she had not seen for a long time – cereals were everywhere on the floor, alongside opened Sugar Puffs boxes.
“I came back in from shopping and it was all over the floor everywhere. I went mad.” Hunt said, according to SWNS.
She quickly found her two dogs, George and Mildred, who appeared clean. Yet, she initially couldn’t locate her third canine, a 2-year-old Shih Tzu named Crumpet. But then, she peeked into her crib.
Hunt didn’t know whether to cry or laugh when she saw her. Crumpet was covered in sticky cereal from head to toe. Although she was on edge, Hunt immediately tried to remove them from her fur, but it was in vain.
“She got into two other cereal boxes too but the sugar puff cereal is covered in honey so it stuck to her fur like tar,” Hunt said. “I couldn’t get them out. I tried to wet them but it just turned them into wallpaper paste.”
The desperate dog mom had no other choice but to turn to a professional.
A Lengthy Clean-Up Session
As soon as Hunt contacted the grooming salon, she asked for an immediate appointment. Fortunately, the answer was positive, so she and Crumpet directly headed there.
When they came and the salon employees saw the dog, even they could not believe what they were witnessing. These people knew they had a tough job ahead of them, but they were determined to turn Crumpet into a handsome dog again.
“When I finally decided to take her to the groomers, it took them nearly three hours to wash her, cut all of the cereal out, and make her look like a dog again,” Hunt said.
However, it was all worth it in the end, and the best proof of that was the photo of Crumpet after her lengthy clean-up session. With the much shorter, cereal-free haircut, she was an entirely new dog.
Although one might wonder what kind of attitude Hunt had toward her dogs, especially Crumpet, after all this mess, her answer might surprise some – she adored them even more.
And, how could she not when these are unique moments that only our little furry friends can provide. Such moments become the most beautiful memories later in life, and that is the most important thing in the end.
