Meet Buddy, a 10-year-old terrier who spent 515 days at the RSPCA Brent Knoll Animal Centre in Somerset, UK.
cocker spaniel dubbed London’s “loneliest dog” has finally found a home after more than 500 days at an animal centre. Now Hattie has been taken in by Dean and Tracey Blackmore at their home in Surrey, ending her stay at the RSPCA’s Southbridge Animal Centre.
This made him the longest staying dog the Somerset branch had ever seen, and after a year and a half of searching, Buddy finally found a new home.
Offers came flooding in after the RSPCA launched a fresh appeal for Buddy, his new home is still in the UK despite offers for the US and Canada.
Buddy has “settled in well into his new home,” according to Andy Cook, a behavior and welfare adviser at the RSPCA.

“I took Buddy along to the home on Monday for a bit of support and stayed there for an hour just to see how it went and very quickly I could see that they were fine.”
Buddy’s last human wanted him to be put down due to his “challenging behavior” but the vet refused.
He was taken in by the RSPCA and worked closely with behaviorists to help manage his issues.
Buddy has been described as an affectionate chap” and just needed a “very special home with conscientious owners who have time and patience to help him live the happiest life possible”.
According to the RSPCA, all he needs is a life “free from confrontation, other dogs and other identified stressors”. everyone deserves a second chance”.
