Kathryn is an incredible hooman who has dedicated her life to rescuing helpless and/or special needs puppies and providing them with the care they deserve.
The other day, she received a call regarding two newborn brothers who were in desperate need of help.
The determined rescuer immediately responded to the call but things weren’t as simple as they seemed. The two puppies were located two hours away from her and needed to be in her care as soon as possible in order to survive.
After carefully thinking things through, Kathryn came up with a way to finally get the brothers to her.
Good Things Come To Those Who Wait
Since Kathryn was already taking care of little pups and wasn’t able to leave them alone so that she could pick up the two brothers, she decided to call an Uber!
But things took an unexpected turn.
Many drivers did take Kathryn’s call, but when they realized that they would be driving two puppies for two hours in the middle of the night, they quickly dropped Kathryn’s order.
Luckily, one incredible driver decided to take the order and drive four hours in order to provide the puppies with a second chance at life.
As soon as the pups, now named Sal and Arti, were in her care, Kathryn gave them the medication they needed and allowed them to get the rest they deserved.
But when she woke up the next morning, she noticed something was wrong.
Unexpected Surprise
Even though the puppies seemed to be thriving, Kathryn noticed that Arti’s face started to swell up.
After rushing him to the emergency room, the vets determined that Arti’s body lacked the necessary proteins, causing his head to double in size.
Arti had to stay in critical care for a few days while Kathryn went back home to care for his brother and others.
Sal became restless without having his brother by his side, constantly moving around and crying. Luckily, Kathryn’s two dogs, Etta and Finn, jumped in and became Sal’s babysitters, reassuring him that Arti would be back home in no time.
After just a few days in the hospital, Arti’s health started to improve and he was ready to come back home!
“Arti’s swelling went completely away after 3 days of a plasma drip. He was really struggling for a bit and I thought we were close to losing him. These are the strongest little boys ever. Sal opened his eyes today and we are waiting for Arti to follow,” Kathryn wrote in a Facebook post.
As soon as Sal saw that his brother was back home, he began to shed tears of joy!
Finally, Arti and Sal were able to relax and do what puppies do best: sleep, eat, and grow. Just a few weeks later, these two brothers grew twice their size making them more than ready to go to their foster home!
The pups kept on thriving at their foster home, overcoming every obstacle and growing up into the sweetest, strongest boys ever.
