Davante Adams has ignited the rumor mill after appearing to reference the Baltimore Ravens in an Instagram story, following his request to be traded from the Las Vegas Raiders.
NFL teams have been placed on red alert after Adams, one of the most talented wide receivers in the league, made it clear to the Raiders that he no longer wishes to play for the organization. Adams has already been linked with the New York Jets, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills, and now the Ravens, meaning the AFC is set to be impacted in one way or another.
The trade request came at the perfect time for the Chiefs, who just placed Rashee Rice on IR after he suffered a knee injury in the Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Kansas City is the last team that the Raiders would want to do business with, and it seems that Adams may be looking elsewhere in the AFC.
The Ravens need a star receiver, as second-year wide-out Zay Flowers is the only elite option for quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens acquired running back Derrick Henry in the offseason and are stacked in the tight end position with Isiah Likely and Mark Andrews, and Adams could be the final piece of the puzzle to facilitate their Super Bowl dreams.

Adams posted a cryptic picture to his Instagram story, randomly uploading a photo of legendary writer Edgar Allan Poe. The Ravens are named after Poe’s poem “The Raven” and their mascot is also named “Poe” in a tribute to the American writer and poet.
Should Adams trade to the Ravens it would be a huge blow to the Chiefs, who are yet to replace Rice and could face Baltimore in the postseason. While the rumors are exciting for Ravens fans, insiders have told supporters to not take the reports seriously at this stage.
ESPN has reported there is currently no movement on a deal between the Ravens and Raiders for Adams. But doing so could see the Raiders deal a blow to their big divisional rivals, the Chiefs, in the process.

Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time NFL receiving touchdowns leader, is desperate to be on a championship roster. The former second-round pick was selected by the Green Bay Packers in 2014 and made the postseason six times with the Cheeseheads but was traded to the Raiders in 2022.
The Packers franchise tagged Adams that year and the receiver refused to play under those terms. The Raiders saw an opportunity after recently locating to Las Vegas, and along with trading for Adams, they handed him a five-year, $141.25 million deal.
The Raiders have failed to reach the playoffs since the arrival of Adams, even though the receiver scored 22 touchdowns in his first two seasons. It remains unclear where Adams will end up, but it’s expected he will be with a new organization before the trade deadline on Nov. 5.
