Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson released her debut solo single Boyz in 2022, which featured P Diddy’s Bad Boys For Life and even featured him in her video.

Jesy Nelson’s fans have made some fun of the singer’s tribute to P Diddy.

In 2022, the former Little Mix star released Boyz, her first solo single since leaving the group in December 2020. Jesy used Diddy’s original song and video as inspiration for her track.

Diddy even appeared in the music video, and the release of her song was delayed so he could appear in the video. However, following his recent arrest, fans have deemed the idea “out of date”.

Fans wrote underneath the YouTube video, with one saying: “Maybe it’s time to cut P Diddy out of the video. I think they’re going to remove Diddy’s cameo lol.”

Another added: “This song is so unfashionable.” While a third wrote: “This video is EVEN more hurtful because of what’s happened lately…” Others added: “This video is so unfashionable LMFAOOO” and “NA, IT’S CRAZY TO WATCH IT BACK WHEN IT’S ALL RELEASED.”

This comes after Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, 54, was charged with human trafficking, extortion and transportation to engage in prostitution charges. Combs denies any wrongdoing and will fight the charges at trial. A judge has since denied Combs $50 million bail so he will remain in custody until his court date.

Combs is accused of “abusing, threatening and coercing women and others around him to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct”.

US Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky denied his request for bail because he had “serious concerns” about his substance abuse and “appearance to have anger issues”.

Jesy received backlash at the time the ‘blackfishing’ video was released after fans accused her of attempting to portray racial ambiguity. One person wrote online: “Jesy Nelson’s debut solo song #Boyz is cute and the video is a fun throwback to the 00s. But it’s 4 minutes of blatant cultural appropriation: – The Blackfishing – Lowriders and bicycles – Gold teeth – The Blackfishing – Aesthetics – Hair – Lollipops – THE BLACKFISHING.”

Another added: “Sorry but I can’t stand Jesy Nelson. Why would she label herself as this black ‘ghetto’ beauty when she’s 100% white and from ROMFORD?????”

At the time, the singer defended herself, telling Vulture: “I’m very aware that I’m a white British woman; I’ve never said I’m not. But I mean, I like black culture. I like black music. That’s all I know; that’s what I grew up with.”

“I take all those comments seriously. I’ve never intentionally done anything to make myself seem racially ambiguous, which is why I was initially shocked when the term was used against me.”
