Former NBA star Jeff Teague has delivered an X-rated response to A-ja Wilson after comments made by the Las Vegas Aces superstar.
Wilson is coming off the back of a record season in the WNBA and followed that up by being named tournament MVP as Team USA won Olympic gold at Paris in the summer. She has been rewarded with a multiyear contract with Nike, with her signature ‘A One’ shoes set to debut in 2025.
Speaking on The Roommates Show podcast, Wilson suggested she could beat co-host and New York Knicks’ star Josh Hart 11-8 in a game of 1v1. Hart lightheartedly brushed off the suggestion and said “it’s not happening” but did accept the Aces star wouldn’t go scoreless.
Yet Teague went one step further and took a brutal shot at Wilson. On the Club 520 show, he said: “Do ya’ll know n—— off the bench used to average 40 in high school and 20 in college.
“Let’s not play around. He is really going to beat your a–. She is not beating a n—- in the G League. She’s not beating a n—- in college.”
Teague has also taken aim at Wilson and WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark recently, suggesting the duo would be ‘killed’ by NBA prospect and son of LeBron, Bronny James. The ex-Atlanta Hawks player claimed James would beat Wilson 20-0 before taking aim at Clark.
He said: “Caitlin would not score a point on Bronny, bro. She might not even get a shot off. He would beat her by 60. He is 10 times more athletic. He can do everything better than her. Bryce James would beat her 20-0. She’s a girl bro.”
It is not the first time Teague has sparked controversy with his damning WNBA assessment. He and Charleston White made lewd remarks about Angel Reese on a live episode of the podcast, which received huge amounts of criticism.
White had suggested Reese was not a strong enough player and should pursue a future away from the court in the adult industry. He added: “Dunk in some panties with no bra on. That’s how you sell tickets. We need an OnlyFans WNBA-then I’ll tune in.”
But Teague has moved to clarify the incident, insisting: “We have nothing but love for Angel Reese. She’s a phenomenal player and an even better person.
“We had great times with Angel Reese. She is cool people. We don’t even look at her like that. We see her as a little sister, a little homie.”
