Jayden Daniels’ Hail Mary game-winning play against the Chicago Bears continues to be reproduced by every angle possible from NFL fans online. Still, the most intriguing content piece is the audio released that gave the rookie QB’s real-time reaction.

Daniels showcased his cool under pressure, scrambling for over ten seconds in the backfield before launching a 35-yard rocket with no time left on the clock. The pass aimed to keep Washingtons hopes alive bounced off Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson as he was preoccupied taunting fans before the play and into the hands of Noah Brown for the game-winning touchdown.

The play instantly electrified the 64,704 fans at Northwest Stadium and the personnel on the field as Washington players stormed out to celebrate the improbable victory. An alternate broadcast angle captured Daniels confidently saying, “Im like that,” as he embraced tight end Zach Ertz in a victorious hug.

Daniels completed 21 of 38 passes for 326 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Adding to the sportsmanship on display, Daniels then shared a moment of mutual respect with Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, the only player taken ahead of him during the 2024 NFL Draft.

After the game, Daniels discussed the miraculous throw with the media. Regarding his mindset, he said, “Buy some time and dont throw the ball out of bounds. I just heard people screaming and our sideline rushing the field. Thats how I knew [we won.] Thats kind of like a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” he continued. “Not too many people get to experience stuff like that.”

Washington’s victory over the Bears extended their winning streak to two games, solidifying their place at the top of the NFC East with a 6-2 record. The win kept them just ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles, who are riding their own three-game winning streak but sit one game behind at 5-3.

Daniels has shown impressive accuracy in his rookie season, with a 71.8 percent completion rate across his eight games. With 1,736 passing yards and 8.4 yards per pass attempt, hes not only moved the ball down the field but continues to do so while maintaining precision.

The rookie QB’s touchdown-to-interception ratio reflects careful decision-making, with seven passing touchdowns to just two interceptions. Daniels also has a 104.3 quarterback rating, which places him in the top 10 among starters in the league.

Daniels’ athleticism also shines on the ground, contributing 424 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The dynamic dual-threat quarterback is the odds-on favorite to claim the NFL Rookie of the Year award at the end of the year, ahead of Williams, Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix, and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
