NFL fans can’t get over Jason Kelce’s outfit on Monday Night Football in ahead of the evening’s matchup between the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kelce has made headlines in his first year on the hit ESPN broadcast thanks to his relaxed personality and unique outfits. This Monday, he appeared wearing a flat cap and grey suit reminiscent of Dick Van Dyke’s chimney sweeper character in Mary Poppins.
On X, NFL fans had more comparisons for the future Hall of Fame center. One fan tweeted, “[Jason Kelce] looks like a character from a Depression-era movie. Like an enforcer from Tommy OMalleys crew.”
Another added: “Glad to see [Jason Kelce] became a member of the peaky blinders this week,” referencing the popular British show set in the 1910s.
Tom Brady has wild 24 hours with shock Gisele update after FOX NFL Sunday risk
One fan noticed some Elmer Fudd resemblance: “I’m sorry. Is [Jason Kelce] leading a fox hunt after this? Shooting clay pigeons?” Retiring to a villa just north of Yorkshire? I’ve never seen somebody ready to bag him some quail. What in the Victoria-era villain is going on here?!”
After signing a contract with ESPN this offseason, Kelce has fit in seamlessly on a pregame crew alongside host Scott Van Pelt and fellow analysts Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark.
He may be prepped for an even bigger role at the network. Puck’s John Ourand reported that ESPN spoke to Kelce about the prospect of hosting a late-night show.
The show would be produced by NFL films and air on five Fridays starting in January ahead of the 2025 Super Bowl. If the show performs well, it could turn into a full-time gig.
“Ive seen too much of Tom Brady my whole life and no one says anything about that but about Jason Kelce? Someone whos actually nice and fun?? Please give this energy to people who actually suck,” said one fan on X about the potential move.
Kelce spoke effusively of the network ahead of the 2024 season: “With ESPN, there were a lot of things that were attractive to me. You’re not just in the studio somewhere, for the most part, you’re at the game. You’re feeling the environment, the fans, and you’re seeing players during pregame.”
Kelce has adored himself to many due to his ability to connect with fans in each city. On Monday, he twirled a terrible towel live on air – much to the delight of the Steelers faithful.
A few weeks ago, Kelce appeared with the Bills mafia during a game in Buffalo. He donned a Fred Flintstone fit and drank out of a bowling ball.
The 5-2 Steelers are -6 point favorites over the 2-5 Giants on Monday night. Kelce spent 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles and faced New York 23 times.
