Miami basketball will debut new uniforms for the 2024-25 season.

The Hurricanes revealed the new look on Wednesday with a photoshoot featuring senior guards Nijel Pack, Hanna Cavinder and Haley Cavinder.

The Hurricanes men’s basketball program kicks off the season on Nov. 4 at home against Fairleigh Dickinson, while the women return to action the same day against visiting Stetson.

Both the men’s and women’s teams suffered a disappointing finish to the 2023-24 season after NCAA Tournament appearances the season prior.

The Miami men’s team, in its 13th season under head coach Jim Larranaga, followed up an appearance in the 2023 Final Four with a ten-game losing slide into a 15-17 finish that marked the team’s first losing record in three seasons.

Head coach Katie Meier, who led the women’s team to their first Elite Eight appearance in program history in 2023, finished off her 19th campaign with the Hurricanes with a 19-12 finish and an NCAA Tournament snub.

Following Meier’s retirement from coaching in March, former Toledo head coach Tricia Cullop will look to lead the Hurricanes back into the tournament next spring.

Both programs’ hopes of a return to March Madness were bolstered by the decisions of Pack and the Cavinder twins to return to Miami for their final seasons of NCAA eligibility.

Pack, who transferred to Miami from Kansas State in 2022, was a key part of the Hurricanes’ run to the Final Four. He started 25 games for Miami last season, averaging 13.3 points while leading the team with 3.6 assists per game.

The Cavinder sisters began their college careers at Fresno State, then joined the Hurricanes for the 2022-23 season. Haley Cavinder served as a starter, while Hanna Cavinder competed as a key bench player, during the team’s run to the Elite Eight.

The Cavinders took the 2023-24 season away from college basketball, after which Haley Cavinder originally announced last November that she planned to transfer to TCU for her final season of college eligibility. The sisters later decided to return to Miami for the 2024-25 season.

Pack and the Cavinders will now prepare for their final college season while debuting the Hurricanes’ new look this fall.
