The drama surrounding the April 20 fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia rolls on as Haney has now officially filed a lawsuit against Garcia for battery and fraud, as reported by TMZ.

Although originally a big win for Garcia, it would later be revealed that Garcia tested positive for banned substance ostarine leading into the fight and the results of the match were eventually overturned to a no contest by the New York State Athletic Commission, despite Haney requesting a disqualification win.

Now Haney is seeking monetary compensation, alleging battery since he never would have consented to the fight with Garcia had he known he was using a banned substance. Haney additionally argues that Garcia committed a fraud by agreeing to a clean fight and then taking the substance.

In his lawsuit Haney claims to have suffered “physical injury, reputational damage which will amount to millions of dollars, and emotional and mental distress,” as a result of his fight with Garcia, and is also suing Golden Boy for breach of contract.
