Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams is reportedly looking for a way out of Las Vegas.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Adams has informed the Raiders that he would like to be traded. As for what Las Vegas might look to get in return for the six-time Pro Bowler, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that a package featuring a second-round pick and additional compensation would be “considered.”
Adams has been no stranger to trade rumors as of late, with his name routinely being floated in potential deals over the last two years. On Monday, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce added further fuel to the hearsay after a now-viral screenshot appeared to show him “liking” an Instagram post that read: “Don’t be surprised if Davante Adams has already played his last snap with the Raiders.”

While appearing on Tuesday’s episode of the ‘Up & Adams’ show, Adams asserted that he was continuing to go about his business as usual despite his now murky future in Las Vegas. “I haven’t heard from [Pierce]. I haven’t talked to him,” he began. “I don’t really know exactly what that was about. … It’s one of those situations where I just keep my head down and keep doing my thing and let the chips fall where they may.
“There’s been no communication with anybody from the team since that became a thing, but it’s kind of just like the weekly, ‘What’s up with Tae?’ thing. It’s always some sort of drama. But, at the end of the day, 17 doesn’t create any of it.
“So, people can say what they want, but I’m just chilling and trying to be the model for not stirring the pot and just locking in and doing what I got to do.”

During the interview – which aired prior to his bombshell trade request – Adams notably stopped short of confirming whether or not he’s played his last snap in a Raiders uniform. “All I can control is this talk we’re having right here and after we’re done with this all I can control is the next thing that I’m on to,” he added.
The timing of Adams’ trade request comes as a bit of a shock, considering the Raiders are coming off a 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 4. The 31-year-old did not suit up for the contest, however, after suffering a hamstring injury in practice several days prior.
Through three games this season, Adams has reeled in 18 catches on 27 targets for 209 yards and one touchdown. The three-time first-team All-Pro will certainly garner considerable interest from other teams on the open market, with many around the league speculating that he could soon reunite with longtime quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the New York Jets.
After Adams fondly looked back on his time playing alongside the four-time MVP with the Green Bay Packers, ‘Up & Adams’ host Kay Adams jokingly pointed out, “Davante, I think you miss him,” to which he replied with a grin: “How could you not.”
