Tammy Slaton showed off her new teeth after shedding 500lbs and clapped back at trolls as she recently appeared on a podcast show, admitting, ‘haters make me famous’
1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton is proudly showing off her new smile – the latest milestone in her huge transformation after losing nearly 500lbs.
The 39-year-old appeared on Tuesdays episode of the Creative Chaos podcast, where she revealed that shed recently undergone dental work to address long-standing issues with her teeth, which trolls had repeatedly mocked her for online.
Show me them chompers, girl, joked host Hunter Ezell as Tammy turned toward the camera and beamed, revealing her new teeth. Slaton explained that the work was the result of getting a dental bridge, which is a procedure that involves placing artificial teeth anchored between two natural ones. It comes after an expert gave a terrifying warning about Tammy’s ‘addiction’.
Theyre temporary still, she shared, revealing that the process hasnt been entirely smooth sailing. They had to cement [the artificial teeth] in because the glue wasnt holding. Well, my body was rejecting it.
She also shared that a few of her teeth had to be pulled to install the bridge, but confessed that this was only the beginning of her dental makeover. Im still getting more done with it, she said. Its a process.
Despite the complications, Tammy appeared in high spirits, and Ezell was quick to praise her on her appearance. Youve got new teeth, he said, adding that it got the people off your back.
Some of them, Tammy replied. Theyre always gonna be there. The podcast host then encouraged, If you aint got people who constantly got something to say about you, you aint doing good in life.” Slaton replied, “Haters make me famous.”
The star has never been shy about calling out those who attack her appearance. In January 2024, she directly responded to a TikTok comment telling her to fix them teeth. In a now-viral clip, she said, With all due respect, I wish people like you would stop commenting crap like this. It is not helping my confidence.
She continued, Getting my teeth fixed costs money that I don’t have right now. I was trying to keep my confidence boosted and seeing comments about my chin or my teeth doesn’t help.
Tammy admitted she had to calm herself down before replying, saying, I really wanted to tell you if you had a true problem with my teeth, then pay for them yourself. But I don’t want to be that person. I don’t want to be rude.
Adding, It doesn’t matter if I’m missing teeth. It’s sad. Why hate? Why can’t you just appreciate the hard work I’ve put in? Why can’t you just appreciate that I’m still alive? Yes, I have flaws. I’m human.
She finished with a defiant message, I’m not gonna let you or anyone else ruin my day. Tammys dental update comes on the heels of a stunning physical transformation. After reaching over 700lbs, she lost around 200lbs on her own before qualifying for bariatric surgery, which helped her drop another 300.
