Travis Kelce’s small gestures toward Taylor Swift have got the 34-year-old pop megastar’s fans swooning.
Recently, Kelce and Swift were spotted in New York spending time together after the Chiefs improved to 5-0 after defeating the New Orleans Saints in Kansas City. As a way to celebrate, the couple jetted to the Big Apple to enjoy each other’s company, making up for the lost time after Swift missed two games.
While the two were out to dinner with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively as the Chiefs enjoy a bye week, eagle-eyed fans on social media spotted Kelce’s small actions toward Swift, such as opening the car door for her and holding her close to him after dinner. Naturally, Swifties were quick to react, claiming Kelce was worthy of “marrying” their beloved star.

And while Swift’s fans are already pining for Kelce to pop the question, it appears as if some around the NFL believe the 35-year-old tight end and the songstress already are engaged. During ESPN’s showing of “Monday Night Football,” NFL legend Troy Aikman’s mind slipped and referred to Swift as Kelce’s “missus,” which stoked the fire regarding the two’s relationship.
Speaking on “Pardon My Take,” Aikman made it clear what he meant to say and his reaction to what happened. “Was that a big deal,” he pondered during the episode.
“Was I on a tightrope right there? This morning, I woke up and saw a headline like, ‘Aikman knew he was in trouble’ or something and I was like, ‘Gosh, if this is newsworthy… really?”

Aikman added he was told by a supposed insider that the two were in fact engaged, albeit in secret. “I don’t know if I cursed them or not, but somebody actually reached out to me today and said that they might be engaged – so, I might’ve broke the story,” the ESPN commentator said.
While their relationship status continues to intrigue fans and pundits alike, Kelce and Swift have kept their cards close to their chests. And Donna, Kelce’s mother, believes the decision is ultimately up to the two when to get engaged.
Speaking with Page Six, the elder Kelce explained how she believes the relationship between her son and Swift will pan out. She also reiterated that whatever decision her son wants to make regarding his relationship with Swift is his and his alone.
“Nobody knows that,” she said. “We will see what happens. You never know. I don’t give my kids advice. They have everything all settled. They’re far more able to make those decisions on their own.”
Kelce’s older brother, Jason, also shared what it would mean to have Swift as his sister-in-law. During an episode of the “New Heights” podcast, which the two brothers host, Jason explained what impact having his younger brother engaged to Swift would have.
“My girl Tay is getting you opened up,” Jason joked to his brother. “She’s introducing new foods to you. It’s one of the greatest things I’ve been happy about.”
