The latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce, almost went completely off the rails thanks to an unexpected question from one of their listeners. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, however, managed to keep his composure and approach the question with maturity.
A listener asked the Kelce brothers if they had any advice on how to navigate a “dry spell” in the bedroom. The fan, who identified themselves as being in their mid-50s, explained that their partner had lost interest in intimacy. Instead of laughing off the question or dismissing it, Travis took it seriously and tried to offer some genuine, thoughtful advice.
Travis began by acknowledging that this was not a situation he had personal experience with, but he still wanted to help. “I will personally mention that I have no idea what that’s like,” Kelce said, via Us Weekly. He then proceeded to suggest a few romantic gestures that might help rekindle the spark. “Maybe just try to get some candles, get some rose petals, try and be a little romantic. Maybe you just gotta rekindle that flame or something, get that thing going. Take her to a nice restaurant.”
Travis admitted that his suggestions were based on what he had heard others do and might not be a perfect solution. “These are all things that I would try and do just based off what I heard. That’s tough, man,” he said, empathizing with the listener’s situation.

After a few moments, Travis added another suggestion—role playing. He mentioned that trying something new and playful, like role playing, could help break the routine and bring some excitement back into the relationship.

Meanwhile, Jason Kelce, center for the Philadelphia Eagles, took a different approach to answering the question. Jason’s response was more blunt and reflected his straightforward personality. “Start setting that thing up early. Women, they’re weird. They don’t just always want to have sex,” Jason said with a laugh. “I don’t know why, they don’t operate on the same wavelength as us. … Women like to be sought after.” He emphasized the importance of making his partner feel desired and appreciated, rather than expecting intimacy to happen spontaneously.
The Kelce brothers’ differing perspectives highlighted the complexities of relationships and the importance of understanding one’s partner. While Travis focused on romance and rekindling the flame, Jason emphasized the need for patience and making an effort to make his partner feel wanted.
