Travis Kelce could not help but smile when he saw a fan holding a banner with Taylor Swift lyrics after the Kansas City Chiefs win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Kelce had 10 catches for 90 yards and a touchdown, being Patrick Mahomes‘ go-to target throughout the game with the tight end looking back to his best after a slow start to the season. The 35-year-old had been held without a touchdown in his first six games of the season, with fans worrying about his form in 2024.
But his performance coming in off the bye relieved any nerves that fans may have, as he continued to get open and had been unguardable against the Raiders – with him looking pleased with his performance.

And as he left the field after his big game, Kelce noticed a sign that referenced Swift‘s lyrics when she had been on tour last year.
In Swift’s song ‘Karma’, she had changed the lyrics while at a show in Argentina which Kelce had attended, singing: “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me”.
Kelce smiled as he walked past the poster containing the lyrics as he made his way to the locker room. He’s currently away from his superstar girlfriend, who has resumed her tour.
Swift has been performing in Miami and New Orleans in recent weeks, with her now set to have two weeks off – where she is likely to be reunited with Kelce before traveling to Canada to continue her tour. The singer has only attended three Chiefs games this season, after being at 13 the previous year.
With the Chiefs undefeated though, Swift will hope to be able to see her man perform on the world’s biggest sporting stage once again this year – with Kansas City the favorites to win the Super Bowl in what would be their third consecutive championship. No team in NFL history has ever achieved this feat.
Mahomes and Kelce were both given a significant boost to their Super Bowl chances this week, when the team traded for superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins – who will likely become the go-to receiver as the year progresses.
