Tom Brady will face several restrictions as a broadcaster after officially becoming a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, but calling Raiders games won’t be among them.

According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the NFL confirmed Thursday that Brady will be allowed to call Raiders games on Fox as a color analyst despite being part of the organization.

More than one year after Raiders owner Mark Davis announced that Brady had agreed to buy a stake in the franchise, NFL owners voted to approve the legendary quarterback as a minority owner Tuesday, per ESPN’s Kalyn Kahler.

Davis acknowledged this week that Brady’s status as an NFL analyst for Fox played a role in his ownership status taking so long to approve.

Brady, who played 23 NFL seasons with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning a record seven Super Bowls, retired after the 2022 season.

He signed a deal to become an NFL on Fox broadcaster, and after taking one year off, he began to work in the new position at the start of this season.

ESPN’s Seth Wickersham reported in August that Brady would have to follow several unique rules imposed by the NFL to be a Raiders owner and a broadcaster.

Those rules include not visiting other teams’ facilities or watching their practices, not attending production meetings and not criticizing officials or other teams.

Brady is also now subject to the NFL’s gambling and anti-tampering policies.

Alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt, Brady is part of Fox’s No. 1 broadcasting team, meaning he typically gets to call whichever Fox game is considered to be the best one on the slate in a given week.

Since the Raiders are 2-4 and among the lower-end teams in the NFL this season, there likely won’t be many occasions for him to call Las Vegas’ games.

That could become a bigger issue in future seasons should the Raiders improve, but they aren’t currently an in-demand team that Fox will want to spotlight.

Should Brady be tasked with calling a Raiders game, however, he will have to stay out of the facilities of the team he partially owns for the week leading up to that contest.
