Keep those impacted by these storms in your prayers, look out for your neighbors, and continue to help out anyway you’re able. Stay safe, and stay strong Florida,” Brady added in his statement.
While Brady’s gesture was meant to support those in need, some fans were quick to point out that other celebrities had made larger donations, sparking criticism of Brady’s contribution. For instance, Taylor Swift donated $5 million to hurricane relief efforts, and Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively pledged $1 million.
Several NFL fans took to social media to express disappointment, questioning why Brady, whose estimated net worth is around $300 million, hadn’t given more.
“Very nice, but I would have expected at least a million or more,” one fan wrote.
