Late Wednesday night, Hurricane Milton made landfall in Florida, unleashing devastating winds exceeding 110 mph and a storm surge nearing 10 feet. While Milton’s rapid intensification could have resulted in even greater destruction, the storm still displaced thousands of residents and left many without power or homes.
The situation is particularly dire as the hurricane struck just over a week after Hurricane Helene, compounding Florida’s need for urgent assistance.
In response to the devastation, several individuals and organizations have stepped up to provide aid, including former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. On Thursday morning, Brady announced a significant donation aimed at supporting relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Milton.
“In the wake of Hurricane Milton, I’ll be making a donation of $100,000 to help get essentials like food, water, and first aid to fellow Floridians in need,” Brady shared in a heartfelt message on social media.

Brady’s donation is part of a larger partnership with food delivery service Gopuff. In his statement, he revealed that Gopuff is matching his contribution and will continue to match all donations made through their “Give With Gopuff” campaign, which benefits the Volunteer Florida Foundation.
Brady urged people to keep those impacted by the storm in their thoughts and to help however they can. “Keep those impacted by these storms in your prayers, look out for your neighbors, and continue to help out in any way you’re able. Stay safe, and stay strong, Florida,” he added.
Having spent three years with the Buccaneers and now residing in Miami, Brady has deep ties to the region. His familiarity with the area and its communities has likely fueled his commitment to supporting relief efforts. Brady’s donation is part of a larger wave of generosity, as others rally to help Florida recover from back-to-back hurricanes in such a short period.
The combined efforts of Brady, Gopuff, and countless other contributors will be critical in providing the essentials needed for those displaced by Hurricane Milton.
