NFL analyst Terry Bradshaw previously announced his retirement plans, only to then make a surprising reversal as fans call for him to finally step down.
The 76-year-old has had a successful career as an analyst for decades, joining FOX in 1994 after a 10-year stint with CBS. In 2011, it seemed like Bradshaw’s broadcasting days were nearing their end when the four-time Super Bowl champion confessed that he planned to retire from television once his contract expired.
“I think in three years it may just be my time,” the Pittsburgh Steelers icon told The Post in 2008. “I see the energy and the enthusiasm these young guys have, and I think it’s time to hang it up.”

At the time, reports suggested that Bradshaw’s retirement plans took FOX officials by surprise. It was rumored that the network believed they could persuade him to stay beyond his contract expiration, which turned out to be the case, reports the Irish Star.
Since then, he has remained a mainstay in NFL broadcasting. However, following a series of on-air mistakes this month, many are urging the Louisiana native to finally retire his microphone.
He first disappointed viewers at the start of the month when he tried to imitate a Carolina accent while previewing a game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Carolina Panthers.

Critics took to social media asking the former quarterback to step down, with one viewer tweeting: “Terry Bradshaw, I’m so sorry, but I can’t even understand you anymore. Please leave the studio, man.”
The cascade of gaffes continued as Bradshaw misunderstood what was happening during an NFL Week Seven round-up. While discussing highlights from the Buffalo Bills vs Tennessee Titans game, he inexplicably veered off topic to talk about Nick Chubb’s injury return, leaving both his co-hosts and the audience at home thoroughly confused.
The on-screen awkwardness peaked when Bradshaw interrupted Michael Strahan, who was praising Detroit Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson for his outstanding performance in their 47-9 thrashing of the Dallas Cowboys.

As Strahan noted: “After the bye week, [Hutchinson is] still leading the league in sacks with six-and-a-half. And the [quarterback] pressures,” Bradshaw oddly interjected, referencing a previous joke: “I did the song already. Pressure!”
Bradshaw’s odd behavior included an out-of-the-blue burst into song, delivering a rendition of Queen’s ‘Under Pressure’ during a dialogue on the New England Patriots benching veteran Jacoby Brissett for rookie Drake Maye.
Despite no official announcement of his retirement from broadcasting, the two-time Super Bowl MVP reportedly rakes in a cool $2million per year (£1.54million) in his current role.
