Terry Bradshaw’s “voodoo” song during “FOX NFL Sunday” had his cohosts expressing a wide range of emotions.
While the crew discussed the New Orleans Saints’ unfortunate luck this season after starting the year 2-0, Bradshaw, a Louisiana native, explained how he believed in voodoo. As a fan of the Saints, Bradshaw then told Curt Menefee, Howie Long, Michael Strahan and Rob Gronkowski how he reached out to the Saints and a “voodoo lady,” in an attempt to get New Orleans back on track.
“They’ve scored 91 points in the first two games, then the last five games they’ve lost in a row, they haven’t totaled 91 points,” Bradshaw’s monologue began before switching to a sing-songy tone. “I called, are you guys ready for this, I called Dennis Allen, the head coach of the Saints.

“I love the Saints, I’m from New Orleans and I believe in voodoo, like all the people do in Louisiana, and I called and I told him, ‘Listen, down in Louisiana where the tall pine trees go, lives a voodoo lady named Marie Laveau. I called Marie Laveau, she took her pot, she went into the Saints, they pull all that potion in there.”
Bradshaw then proceeded to explain how he saw Taysom Hill, Marshon Lattimore and Derek Carr all taking a cup of the concoction from Laveau to help them heal up. “All of these people are coming back,” the former NFL star asserted. “The Saints are decimated with injuries and Marie Laveau, God bless her for coming in there.”
After hearing Bradshaw’s comments, Menefee took the 76-year-old’s mug and asked: “Did you have a cup of something over here? Because I’m wondering what’s going on here.”

Bradshaw’s cohosts were skeptical of how effective the “voodoo” lady’s effectiveness was, based on how they reacted throughout the former quarterback’s words regarding Laveau. Laveau was a Creole practitioner of voodoo in the 19th century, though it is unclear if her efforts led to any tangible results.
Whether or not Bradshaw’s call to Allen and his supposed call to Laveau will help the Saints return to form remains to be seen. New Orleans’ struggles have been widespread, with many pundits believing Allen’s time as the Saints’ head coach soon coming to an end.
Among those critical of the effort the Saints have shown with Allen as the head coach was former defensive star, Richard Sherman. After the Saints’ 33-10 loss to the Denver Broncos, Sherman explained how he believed the team was doing what it could to undermine Allen.
“I’m confused, I’m vexed, I’m perplexed. I don’t get it,” Sheman said of the Saints defense. “They don’t want to tackle, they don’t want to make plays. These are good players. Tyrann Mathieu is a good player. Why [did he miss the] easiest interception of his life?
“I see guys not having effort to get to the ball carrier, to make tackles. I don’t understand this. It seems like they want to get their coach fired, that’s the effort they’re playing with. Dennis Allen – you call a time-out so we can watch your quarterback take a knee. Do you want to torture these Saints fans? They’re going to be waiting at his car after this game!”
