There will be a star-studded audience for Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between the Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees.
Per MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch, Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and his popstar girlfriend Taylor Swift will be at Yankee Stadium for what should be an exciting matchup between the two teams.
The two were later seen in attendance at the game:
Kelce is a native of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, and will be rooting for his hometown Guardians. The veteran is a longtime supporter of the Guardians and even threw out the ceremonial first pitch for them in 2023.
For Cleveland’s sake, Kelce will hope the Guardians’ pitching staff has a bit more control than he had when he threw out the first pitch.
Cleveland beat the Detroit Tigers in five games in the divisional series to advance to the ALCS for the first time since 2016 when it reached the World Series before ultimately falling to the Chicago Cubs.
The Guardians are hoping to get past the Yankees, who beat the Kansas City Royals in four games to advance to the championship series.
As Cleveland enjoys a successful postseason so far, Kelce’s Chiefs have also had a strong start to the season, sitting at 5-0 on the year. Kansas City had a bye week this week but will be back in action on Sunday in a Super Bowl rematch against the San Francisco 49ers.
Though he had a bit of a slow start to the season, Kelce has put together a pair of solid games and now has 228 receiving yards on 24 receptions.
