Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark joined her former Iowa Hawkeyes basketball teammates at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday to support their alma mater as the Iowa football team took on Northwestern in a Big Ten showdown. The reunion was a celebratory homecoming for Clark and her ex-teammates, who watched the Hawkeyes crush the Wildcats with an impressive 40-14 win, improving Iowa’s record to 5-3.
The Iowa football crowd welcomed the former basketball stars with resounding applause during a timeout in the second quarter. Clark and her celebrated teammates, including Las Vegas Aces guard Kate Martin, Gabbie Marshall, Monika Czinano, and Sidney Affolter, returned to Iowa not only to cheer on the football team but also for a special ring ceremony earlier that day.
The event honored their recent achievements with the presentation of Big Ten and Final Four rings, each crafted with intricate details, from the Hawkeyes logo to the Big Ten trophy and Final Four logo.
Legendary Iowa coach Lisa Bluder, who retired in May, was also present to share in the emotional reunion. The Iowa women’s basketball Instagram page later posted a video showcasing the diamond-studded rings, capturing the iconic emblems and moments of the team’s journey to the Big Ten Championship and Final Four.

Clark, Martin, and their teammates have had an extraordinary legacy at Iowa, leading the Hawkeyes to three consecutive Big Ten championships from 2022 to 2024, along with two back-to-back NCAA Tournament finals appearances in 2023 and 2024.
Their dominance on the court turned the Hawkeyes into a national sensation, with Clark’s exceptional playstyle and the team’s unity inspiring fans across the country.
The former players credited the university and Coach Bluder for shaping them as athletes and individuals, instilling values that have guided them both on and off the court.
