Shedeur and Deion Sanders accepted Colorado’s defeat at the hands of Kansas State with good grace.
The Buffaloes fell to a 28-31 loss against the Wildcats, going agonizingly close to victory as they led proceedings with 3:12 remaining. At that point, they were up 28-24 but unable to see out the win in front of a capacity home crowd at Folsom Field.
Still, Colorado’s players and their head coach showed their humility after a wounding result as they took responsibility for their showing. When it comes to quarterback Shedeur, he admitted that he was satisfied with his overall performance, while acknowledging the ramifications of the manner of the defeat.

After he threw for threw for 290 yards with three touchdowns and an interception, the starlet confessed: “It was aight. There was definitely some sacks I shouldn’t have took, some reads that I gotta make. I’ll watch the film and see where I can improve because I don’t think anyone ever plays a perfect game and I didn’t play a perfect game.”
Ultimately, in a results business, the 22-year-old is all too aware that his individual contributions are secondary in importance to the team performance. He added: “We made a statement that we lost. That’s the statement: that we lost… A loss is a loss. A loss is a loss. You can’t get that back.”
Meanwhile, his head coach and father Deion reflected on the costly injuries to Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn during the game, saying: “Certainly, losing Travis and Jimmy and others was tremendous because they’re a vital part of our team, vital part of our identity; they’re a vital part of who we are.

“So that took a blow… That look a lot out of us. But other guys had the opportunity to step up and they did. So I’m proud of them,” he continued, adding: “We didn’t tackle well today, whatsoever. We didn’t get to the ball as a unit today, whatsoever. We had some busts and a few things.
“I’m telling you, I hear the calls, and (defensive coordinator Robert Livingston) called a pretty darn good game. He called a really good game, and we just got to execute the calls.”
He added: “Sometimes when you lose in life, you get your butt kicked and you’ve just got to take. Sometimes you lose, you say, ‘Dang, we should’ve won that. We should’ve had that’. That was one of those types of games. That’s not taking anything away from our opponents because they played their butts off.”
Aside from this, “Prime Time” showed his ruthless side as he asserted that he was unimpressed with the performance of son Shilo in the loss. Giving his verdict on his showing, he said: “I thought he played horrible.
“I thought he was rusty. I thought he didn’t have his footing. I thought he wasn’t coming up trying to make the play but open field, one on one tackle, with that kind of back, that ain’t an easy task. But, he’s gonna do better. I know what he has in him.”
