Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has officially endorsed Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election. The two-time Super Bowl winner made the declaration while attending a campaign event for Republican Missouri Senator Josh Hawley.
“I’m supporting the President that’s going to be the most pro-life President, Donald Trump,” Butker answered. “That is the most crucial topic for me. I want us to be fighting for the most vulnerable fighting for the unborn and that’s what we should prioritize and that’s obviously what Senator Hawley’s doing as a man of faith.”
Butker’s political stance shouldn’t come as a surprise. During the offseason, the kicker drew the ire of many for a speech at Saint Benedict’s College in which he called for women to embrace their jobs as “homemakers.”
Hawley, who’s held his current office as Missouri senator since 2019, currently leads Democratic challenger Lucas Kunce 54-46 in a recent poll by ActiVote. He spoke highly of Butker.
“This is a guy who’s not afraid to speak the truth, who’s not afraid to say that we have got to stand on the principles that this country was founded on,” Hawley told Ingraham. “When the left came after him in such a crazy, nutty way this last spring, he didn’t give an inch. And we need more of that in the United States of America.”
Butker’s allegiances may come at odds with his more progressive teammates, namely Travis Kelce. The tight end was rumored to appear at this year’s Democratic National Convention and is dating Taylor Swift, who notably endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in September.

Kelce previously responded to Butker’s comments made at Saint Benedict’s and was understanding of his teammate: “When it comes down to his views and what he said at Saint Benedict’s commencement speech, those are his,” he said.
“I can’t say I agree with the majority of it or just about any of it outside of just him loving his family and his kids. And I don’t think that I should judge him by his views, especially his religious views, of how to go about life, that’s just not who I am.”
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘s wife Brittany attracted attention when she liked an Instagram post by Donald Trump laying out the GOP’s 2024 platform.
Like Kelce, Mahomes was also understanding of his teammate. “I know Harrison,” Mahomes said this offseason. “I’ve known him for seven years. And I judge him by the character that he shows every single day, and that’s a good person.”
“[There are] certain things that he said that I don’t necessarily agree with,” he continued. “But I understand the person that he is, and he’s trying to do whatever he can to try to lead people in the right direction.
“That might not be the same values as I have, but at the same time, I’m gonna judge him by the values that he shows every day, and that’s a great person. … I know what kind of person he is, and I’m gonna make sure I look at that first.”
