Oregon star receiver Traeshon Holden was ejected after appearing to spit at Ohio State’s Davison Igbinosun after the two players got into it.

In the endzone, the pair were seen exchanging a handful of words before Holden appeared to spit at Igbinosun, showing his displeasure for the Ohio State star. The incident in question occurred in the second quarter of the Ducks’ Big Ten matchup with the Buckeyes. As the two stars were jostling for position in the endzone, Igbinosun appeared to win the individual matchup with Holden, seemingly celebrating that fact.

As the 23-year-old Oregon athlete walked away from Igbinosun, he appeared to spit at the 20-year-old, which led to the latter simply shrugging his shoulders as he looked to the referees to make a call. Soon after, Holden was ejected from the game, ending his night at Autzen Stadium earlier than he would have liked.

At the time of his ejection, Holden recorded 32 receiving yards on one catch and was spotted throwing his helmet in the tunnel, his frustrations boiling over. It remains to be seen what other punishments lie in wait for Holden.

Before transferring to Oregon, Holden spent three seasons at Alabama, catching 46 passes for 570 yards to go along with seven touchdowns. Holden also had two years of eligibility left after transferring to the Ducks from the Crimson Tide.

For the season, Holden caught 19 passes for 274 yards with no touchdowns. He also recorded 21 rushing yards on one carry this season.

Holden isn’t short of confidence. Speaking ahead of this season, he was asked who he thought the best player on the team was. “I feel like I am,” came his reply.

The wide receiver was also asked for his thoughts on his own game. “I be me,” he replied, as quoted by Sports Illustrated. “Everybody know, when I walk on the field I become straight business.”

Holden also spoke about the offensive changes he’s experienced throughout his college career. He added: “I feel like me being an older player, being in a few different systems – change either is good or bad, you’re gonna have to do it. l, no matter what, who the coach is, like, whatever he calling, you’re gonna have to go in there and run it.”
