Neymar appeared to drop a hint that he would welcome reuniting with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi at Inter Miami as he enjoyed a catch-up with the pair while playing a video game.

The Brazilian superstar formed part of a formidable attacking trio with his ex-teammates at Barcelona between 2014 and 2017 – with the forward trident supplying a staggering 364 goals and 173 assists in that time. Known affectionately as “the MSN”, they won a historic treble during the 2014-15 campaign including the Champions League title.

However, their partnership ended as Neymar headed for Paris Saint-Germain, signing for the Ligue 1 giants for a staggering world record fee of $242 million. Later, he teamed up with Messi again when the winger departed Camp Nou in the summer of 2021.

Both superstars departed the French capital in 2023, with Neymar heading for Al Hilal of the Saudi Pro League, while Messi completed a switch to Inter Miami in MLS. However, during a virtual reunion between the ex-colleagues, it became clear that their old bond remains unshaken.

Sitting down for a game of Konami’s E-Football during a recent commercial, Neymar plays along with long-term pals Messi and Suarez as the Barcelona versions of themselves. Resuming their “MSN” partnership on the game, the Brazilian superstar even said at one stage: “I wish I was there too.”

While this remark could be read in several different ways, the 32-year-old did appear to be missing his old teammates as they continue to enjoy life in Miami without him. Previous to this, Neymar has not exactly made any secret of his desire to potentially team up with Messi again in the future either.

The Al Hilal star previously told ESPN Argentina: “Hopefully we can play together again. Leo is a great person, everyone knows him in football and I think he is very happy and if he is happy, I am too.”

Meanwhile, he also hinted at a desire to potentially play in America for at least a year before the end of his glittering career. He said on Fenomenos podcast: “I don’t know. I have some doubts about that. I don’t know if I’ll play in Brazil again. I’d love to play in the U.S., actually. I’d love to play there at least for a season.”

Likewise, the former PSG forward also opened up on his regrets that his reunion with Messi in France did not prove more successful. He told Globo’s Esporte Espetacular: “I was very happy for the year he had, but at the same time very sad, because he lived both sides of the coin. He went to heaven with the Argentina team, won everything in recent years, and with Paris he lived hell, we lived through hell, both he and I.”

Neymar added: “We get upset, because we’re not there for nothing, we’re there to do our best, [to] be champions, try to make history. That’s why we started playing together again, we came together there so we could make history. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it.”
