Mike Tyson, the legendary boxer known as ‘Iron Mike’, has called out Jake Paul, saying he’s “manufactured” as they prepare for their hugely anticipated boxing match.
The two combatants are set to duke it out on November 15 at the AT&T Arena in Arlington, Texas, with up to 90,000 spectators expected to attend. The bout was initially scheduled for July but had to be postponed when Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up. Despite his age of 58 and concerns from fans about his wellbeing, Tyson says he’s in fighting shape for the upcoming battle.
Tyson, who last competed professionally back in 2005, succumbing to Irish heavyweight Kevin McBride, officially retired shortly after that fight. However, he did make a return to the ring for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. just four years ago.

Meanwhile, Paul – at 27 years old – has been active in the ring since turning pro in 2020 and boasts wins over notable names such as Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz, and Ben Askren. While Paul suffered a points defeat to Tommy Fury last year, his most recent victory came against Mike Perry in July.
Netflix is gearing up for a knockout with their latest announcement: a three-part docuseries titled ‘Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson’ that will take viewers into the heart of the fighters’ training camps ahead of their much-debated heavyweight bout.
The series’ official trailer dropped on Wednesday, and it’s already packing a punch with its sneak peeks and soundbites. In one clip, we see Paul boldly declaring: “Mike, I love you. But I’m going to take your throne, brother.” Tyson, ever the icon, watches the footage and lets out a laugh before delivering a sharp retort: “He’s a manufactured killer, I’m a natural-born killer.” It’s a clear jab at Paul’s relatively recent entry into boxing compared to Tyson’s lifelong dedication to the sport.

As the fight looms just weeks away, Paul has been diligently studying Tyson’s past fights, strategizing to avoid being cornered and planning to “to trap me on the ropes and then get blows off to angles on each side.”
When probed about his game plan, Paul confidently states: “To just box on the outside and then use my footwork to be more agile and get him chasing me and then attack him when he’s out of position. That should frustrate him.”
Facing criticism for accepting to fight Tyson, Paul explained his motivation at a recent press conference: “Making history. This is what it’s all about for me, man. I’m a kid from Ohio. They’ll never give me credit. That’s the way it is. If I was walking on water, they would say it’s because I couldn’t swim. And this is to make history. The people think I’m going to get knocked out by this strong, powerful guy.”
He further addressed online negativity by saying, “All the people in my comments say, ‘look at his power. He’s going to get KO’d.’ This has taken a chance to fight somebody as vicious as Mike can be. You got to risk it for the biscuit. That’s the name of the game.”
