The 2-7 Las Vegas Raiders suffered a fifth straight defeat on Sunday as they were soundly pummeled 41-24 by Joe Burrow and the home Cincinnati Bengals.
Maxx Crosby, the Raiders‘ always-expressive star defensive end, didn’t hold back when asked how he felt following the defeat. “It ——- sucks to lose five in a row,” he admitted.
This isn’t the first time Crosby has publically expressed frustration at his team’s performances. During Week 6’s contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the defensive end pushed defensive assistant Mike Caldwell on the way back to the sidelines.
“Mike Caldwell Is My Guy. One Of The Best People In The Business. That’s A Love Push, Stop Reaching,” Crosby tweeted postgame to diffuse the situation.

The 27-year-old was his usual, disruptive self on Sunday, registering three tackles, one tackle for loss, and recording three quarterback hits. There was nothing he could do to stop a dominant Burrow throwing for five touchdowns.
The Raiders defense – tipped by some to be a top-ten unit in the league heading into the campaign – has now allowed 20 or more each game this season.
The Raiders selected Crosby in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. By no fault of his own, the three-time Pro Bowler has reached the playoffs with the franchise just once.

This season in Las Vegas has been marred by particularly poor quarterback play. Starter Gardner Minshew was relieved for the third time this season. With Aidan O’Connell out, it was Desmond Ridder’s turn to take reps under center.
Head coach Antonio Pierce was mum when asked who his starting quarterback will be when the team returns from their Week 10 bye. The team already took drastic action by firing Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy, Offensive Line coach James Cregg, and QB coach Rich Scangarello.
“We’ve got to do what’s best and gives us the best opportunity to win, whatever that may be,” he said. “If it’s throwing the ball 60 times, fine. If it’s running it 60 times, fine. But we’ve got to find a balance and an identity on offense going forward.”

Even as the losses pile up, team owner Mark Davis sent an email to ESPN last week indicating the team is not trading Maxx Crosby.
Hall of Fame defensive lineman and Raiders minority owner Richard Seymour appeared on the Adam Schefter podcast and reiterated Davis’s stance.
Pierce, Crosby, and the moribund Raiders will look to end their listing streak in Miami when they take on the 2-6 Dolphins in Week 11 following the team’s bye week.
