Swedish golf sensation Ludvig Aberg has settled into a new pad with his significant other, and it’s conveniently close to the PGA Tour’s HQ.

After dominating the 2022/23 PGA Tour University rankings, Aberg turned professional last year and has hit the ground running. In a stunning display of skill, he snagged the $1.38million (£1m) RSM Classic title in just his 11th appearance – a title he’s gearing up to defend come Sunday.

But Aberg didn’t just stop at that victory. Making an impressive splash in his first major tournament, he clinched a solo second at the Masters during his second season, and despite leading the US Open for two rounds, he finished a respectable 12th. Rocketing from beyond the top 3000 to World No. 5, the 25-year-old Ryder Cup newbie has made another bold move by transitioning from sharing space with a fellow tour pro to stepping onto the property ladder with his beau.

“We bought a new house, and it’s been a lot of house stuff lately,” Aberg revealed before the RSM Classic, adding: “[I’m] kind of getting old and getting a lot of grownup points in that space.” Aberg’s life partner is Olivia Peet, formerly a high-ranking English tennis player who shone at Texas Tech – the same university Aberg graced from 2019 until his leap into professionalism, reports the Mirror.

Before this, Aberg was renting a room from fellow Swede and World No. 211 Vincent Norrman in Tallahassee, Florida. However, he’s since ditched that setup in favor of his very own place. The golf sensation will still call Florida home, relocating to Ponte Vedra Beach, just a chip shot away from TPC Sawgrass and PGA Tour headquarters. Despite having high hopes, Aberg’s summer took a turn due to a knee injury, leading to surgery in September that threw him off his game.

“I couldn’t read the putts the way I wanted to. I couldn’t really squat down, that’s when it really hurt,” he said, adding: “Luckily, I was still able to walk, so me and my girlfriend were in New York and we were doing the city a little bit and kind of acting like tourists, so that was fun.”

As the Georgia tournament approaches, Aberg celebrates his comeback after an agonizing three-month recovery – the longest hiatus from professional golf in his career. Yet he’s brimming with confidence for a standout performance in defense of his title. He explained: “It’s been quite nice. I had about four weeks off from golf.

“The first two weeks I did not miss it at all, I’m not gonna lie, but last couple of weeks it’s been itching in my fingers quite a bit. So it’s been nice to get back into practicing, playing a lot more at home.” Assured of his condition, he added: “I feel 100 percent, otherwise I wouldn’t be here,” further sharing that his break from the sport included not even picking up a club.

Starting cautiously, he resumed playing with short pitches and wedges before gradually increasing the load on his knee. Now, he asserts that he’s come back stronger than before, an auspicious sign as he heads back to the greens.
