Anthony Kim has endorsed Donald Trump in a peculiar social media post ahead of next month’s United States Presidential Election.

Trump is set to face off against Kamala Harris as he vies for a second term after being voted out in the previous election four years ago. Kim, who became a part of LIV Golf earlier this year, has openly declared his voting intentions when America heads to the polls.

In an Instagram post, he encouraged fans to support Trump in a statement that contained a controversial comment about gender. The 39-year-old golfer asserted that Trump treats everyone with respect, irrespective of their race, age, or “either of the two genders”.

“Growing up watching TV and hearing about different celebrities, I realised once I started being around them that what the public sees and thinks about someone isn’t always true,” wrote Kim. “@realdonaldtrump has exceeded my expectations of what it is to be a MAN.

“While spending time together I saw how he treated everyone including the people I had with me and staff at all his properties. Didn’t matter race, age, or either of the two genders. He also gave me advice to which I now wish I listened which included working hard and staying sober as it is a slippery slope.

“Through the grace of the higher power, family and friends, sobriety, I was blessed to be playing @livgolf_league which included @trumpdoral. Not knowing if he would remember me or wanting to bother him I stayed away but he made it a point to come encourage me and let me know we all make mistakes but it’s how we come back from them that matters.

“His generosity extends beyond giving 100 bills to everyone and I feel grateful to know him. There is a reason that the people he is around love him. #vote #trump 2024.”

Kim became one of golf’s brightest talents after turning professional in 2006, winning three PGA Tour titles and the Ryder Cup with the United States in 2008. He also finished third in the Masters in 2010 and achieved two top-10 finishes at the Open Championship.

Kim’s last appearance in a PGA Tour event came in 2012 after injuries ruined his career. He’s trying to get it back on track after joining LIV but hasn’t made much of an impression, failing to win an event or even a point on the Saudi-backed circuit.

Last month, Kim expressed his support for Trump on X by posting a video of an African American woman lambasting the Democrats. The clip featured the woman endorsing the Republicans as the true advocates for her community.

Kim captioned the video: “Being a minority in any country isn’t easy. Having spent time with Donald Trump as a Korean-American, I have seen and experienced who this man is when no cameras are around and that’s why I have great respect for this man.”
