Last Thursday night, former Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler found himself in legal trouble after being arrested for driving under the influence in Franklin, Tennessee. The former Chicago Bears quarterback was pulled over by police and faced multiple charges, including DUI, failure to exercise due care, violation of implied consent law, and possession of a handgun while under the influence.
According to a report by Page Six, the incident escalated after Cutler allegedly rear-ended another car and attempted to flee the scene. The report also claimed that he offered the driver of the other vehicle $2,000 to avoid calling the police. Despite his efforts, law enforcement was alerted, and Cutler was subsequently arrested.
As the details of the arrest emerged, Cutler’s ex-wife, Kristin Cavallari, took some time before addressing the situation publicly. During Tuesday’s episode of her Let’s Be Honest podcast, Cavallari briefly acknowledged the incident but chose to keep her comments limited.
“I wanted to hop on here and just let you guys know that this episode was recorded right before a very public incident that happened last week with my ex-husband, so just keep that in mind as you’re listening,” she explained, referencing the timing of her podcast recording.
While she refrained from diving into specifics, Cavallari expressed her well wishes for Cutler, stating, “I will not be commenting on what happened. I do, of course, wish Jay nothing but the best, and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs, but that’s the only thing I will be saying about it publicly.”

Reports also indicated that Cutler refused to participate in field sobriety tests following the accident and was taken to a local hospital for a blood test. Despite allegedly denying any involvement in the accident, police discovered a “small dent in the rear” of the other vehicle, corroborating the collision.
Cutler was released from custody after posting a $5,000 bond, but the incident has raised concerns about his well-being and legal future.
