Former LIV Golf star Kieran Vincent is already plotting an immediate return to the breakaway league having been relegated following the end of the 2024 season last month.
Vincent was one of four players who was dumped from the LIV setup alongside his brother Scott, Kalle Samooja, and Branden Grace. He has since been forced to make a return to the Asian Tour, but this does provide him with a chance to play his way back on the Saudi-backed circuit.
The player who tops the Asian Tour’s International Series come the end of the year will be promoted to the breakaway league, with LIV reserve John Catlin currently the man to catch.

On the back of his relegation, Vincent has made his return to the Asian-based circuit in the hopes of chasing down Catlin. Speaking at this week’s Black Mountain Championship, the former teammate of Jon Rahm said: “I really enjoyed my time out there, especially with the group of guys that I had.
“They just made it so awesome. If there is any way of being able to get back out there, why wouldn’t I do it? I want to do the best I can, and I always do but having the availability of six events which is more than half a season, and with two good weeks suddenly, things can change.
“That is definitely on the forefront of my mind. But it is also about figuring out how I can continue to keep getting better, and how I can continue to use what I have learned to help me get better. That is also something I am trying to do for the rest of the season.”

If he returns, however, it appears there will not be a spot alongside Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, and Caleb Surratt on the Legion XIII roster. On the back of Vincent’s relegation last summer Rahm is now on the lookout for a new man, and speaking upon his DP World Tour return at the Andalucia Masters this week, his hunt has already begun.
“I still don’t have a player who is already signed but we have six or seven in mind,” he told Spanish outlet Golf Sin Etiquetas on Tuesday. The former world No. 1 also admitted that one of those ‘six or seven’ is also in the field alongside him Andalucia this week.
Despite this, Rahm revealed after Vincent’s relegation last month that he is always there to lend a hand to the youngster. “I’ll tell him that no matter what, he’s got my phone number. If he wants or if he needs anything, any advice, all he needs to do is text me, and I’ll respond,” he said after winning the 2024 LIV title.
“We’ve shared a lot this year, and whenever you compete as a team, that just doesn’t go away. Unfortunately, he didn’t play his best. He’s extremely talented and capable of a lot more than he showed this year, which is the cruel reality of LIV Golf. But if I’m not mistaken he still has a chance.”
