UFC commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan has thrown his support behind Donald Trump.
On ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ Rogan aired an episode featuring Elon Musk, which he summed up in an X post: “The great and powerful @elonmusk. If it wasn’t for him we’d be ——. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way. For the record, yes, that’s an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast.”
Rogan, who launched the famed podcast back in 2009, uses it as a stage to discuss topics across the spectrum with high-profile guests from diverse spheres. His backing of Trump came as a surprise, given the eclectic nature of his views, his push for free speech and open dialogue, and his lack of clear political allegiances.

Earlier this year, Rogan seemed to lean toward Robert F. Kennedy. This official backing represents a stark shift from Rogan’s previous stance, when he firmly declared in 2022: “I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once, I’ve said no every time, I don’t want to help him, I’m not interested in helping him.”
However, it seems Rogan has been influenced by Musk, who he evidently holds in high regard. Musk accused the Democratic Party of being willing to “tell whatever lie wins the election,” following a CNN KFile investigation.
The probe revealed that American audiences were shown an ad with two contrasting perspectives. In Michigan, KFILE reported that viewers were exposed to pro-Palestine ads, while pro-Israel ads were broadcasted in Pennsylvania.

CNN highlighted that Michigan, which was targeted with the pro-Palestine advert, has “the largest Arab population in America,” while pro-Israel ads were aimed at Jewish voters in Pennsylvania. For billionaire Musk, this indicates that Democrats will do whatever necessary to secure the votes for the U.S. Presidential election, which is held on Tuesday.
Rogan chose to amplify Musk’s opinions by reposting the entire episode on X. Rogan’s political views are largely centrist.
He stresses individual freedom, free speech, and personal responsibility and has criticized both major political parties, typically being skeptical of authority and mainstream media outlets. He has voiced support for certain progressive causes such as drug legalization and criminal justice reform.
However, he has also endorsed conservative views on topics like political correctness and cancel culture. Rogan is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and the right to bear arms. He often talks about personal responsibility in relation to gun ownership.
While he recognizes the need for conversations about gun control, he usually stresses the importance of individual rights and self-defense. As we approach the 2024 election, it seems Rogan is leaning more toward the right.
