Joe Rogan has revealed why he finally decided to host Donald Trump on his podcast despite previously stating he had no interest in interviewing the former president.
The UFC commentator had initially expressed disinterest in having Trump on his show, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ saying: “I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once – I’ve said no every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.” Rogan also stated that he believes Trump to be an “existential threat to democracy.”
However, after Trump was shot in the ear during an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally, Rogan changed his mind. “Once they shot you I was like ‘he’s gotta come in here,'” Rogan explained. “It’s all about timing, it’s all about the timing. I think the timing is perfect,” he added.

The conversation quickly turned to the gunshot wound Trump received from gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks at the July 13 rally. When asked by Rogan if he had a scar on his ear from the gunshot, the presidential nominee showed off the healed wound behind his right ear. “It zicked right there,” Trump said. “It healed up pretty f–—– good,” Rogan responded.
The conversation with Rogan turned to discussing the potential of having Democrat presidential nominee and vice-president Kamala Harris on his podcast. “Can you imagine Kamala doing this show? She’d be lying on the floor,” Trump joked.
“She was supposed to be doing it and she might still, and I hope she does,” responded Rogan. “I would talk to her like a human being and try to have a conversation with her. That was my goal having her on, trying to get her to express herself,” he explained.

Trump then shifted the interview towards their mutual acquaintance, Elon Musk, who has appeared on Rogan’s show. Musk has thrown his support behind Trump, while Rogan hasn’t yet publicly supported either candidate.
Trump attempted to receive the same vindication from Rogan. “He gave me the nicest endorsement,” mentioned Trump about Musk. “You should do the same thing Joe because you cannot be voting for Kamala. Kamala. You’re not a Kamala person. I know you.”
Trump continued, stressing to Rogan, “I have watched you for so many years. You’re not a Kamala person. You’re a Khabib person – but you’re not a Kamala person,” referencing retired MMA champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, someone Rogan is familiar with in the UFC world. “If she did this kind of interview with you, I hope she does because it would be a mess.”
