Since retiring from the NFL following the 2017 season, Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler has transitioned to a life in the media and business ownership. Cutler, known outside of football for his relationship with actress Kristin Cavallari, divorced his longtime partner of nine years in 2022.

Cutler’s most recent notable activity since the 2022 divorce came last Thursday when the Franklin Police Department in Tennessee arrested him. He was charged with a DUI and arrested for gun possession after colliding with another car in a police report obtained by CBS News.

Before the arrest, the 12-year NFL veteran launched a podcast in 2021 called “Uncut with Jay Cutler.” The show features Cutler talking to notable experts across various fields, including ex-teammates and celebrities, and more about topics like UFOs, sports, music, and more.

The last episode of Cutler’s podcast, released three months after his divorce, highlighted comedian Dane Cook. The show featured a star-studded guest list, including ESPN’s Pat McAfee, ex-Bears teammate Brian Urlacher, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and NASCAR driver Kyle Busch.

Outside of the podcast, Cutler has promoted his own beer, Gratis, which he started with four friends. The additive-free beverage is brewed in Nashville and prides itself on featuring only four ingredients: yeast, hops, grains, and water.

Cutler has over 629k Instagram followers and frequently posts about his love of hunting. He owns the company Outsider, which provides hats, clothing, and hunting accessories for lovers of the outdoors. The brand’s pinned post features the tagline, “We encourage everyone to get outside and experience all life has to offer.”

The brand’s CEO is Sam Mackey, a retired Navy member with a 20-year tenure. Mackey befriended Cutler during his time with the Chicago Bears after a hunting conversation in 2011. Cutler played 12 years in the NFL after the Denver Broncos drafted him with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2006 Draft. He earned his first and only Pro Bowl appearance in his final year with the team, 2008, the same year he was officially named Dever’s team captain.

Cutler was traded to the Bears the following season for Kyle Orton. He would play the next eight seasons of his career in a Bears uniform, earning five 3000-yard passing seasons, 154 touchdowns, and 109 interceptions.

The veteran quarterback formally announced his retirement but was dragged into a final year in Miami after a season-ending injury to the then-starter, Ryan Tannehill. After fulfilling his one-year contract worth $10 million, he hung up his cleats for good.
