Erin Andrews’ support for her close friend and fellow NFL reporter Charissa Thompson knows no bounds.
During Amazon’s coverage of “Thursday Night Football” between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, Andrews made sure to shout out Thompson on social media. On Instagram, Thompson posted a carousel explaining how her coverage of the NFC West clash was a homecoming of sorts for her.
“Seattle. You’ll always be my home,” her post began. “Week 6 was the best of both worlds. My family & work family @nflonprime.”

Upon seeing her friend’s post, Andrews had a three-word response. “HAIR IS [fire emoji],” the 46-year-old posted, which seemed to be the general sentiment shared by most of the fans on Instagram.
And while fans enjoyed Thompson’s post, any Seahawks did not enjoy how the actual game panned out. Though the 49ers were still missing Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco made do with what it had available, with Brock Purdy targeting Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Kyle Juszczyk in the 36-24 win.
Purdy finished the game with 255 yards, completing 18-of-28 pass attempts to go along with three touchdowns. Thursday night’s win also marked the sixth consecutive game the 49ers have won over the Seahawks, including the playoffs.

Andrews, meanwhile, was on hand to watch the Detroit Lions demolish the Dallas Cowboys as part of Fox Sports coverage of the NFL. And while Andrews has been synonymous with being on the sideline during marquee matchups throughout the years, she entered the 2024 NFL season facing uncertainty.
She currently is in the final year of her contract with Fox Sports and admitted to Thompson during an episode of the “Calm Down with Erin and Charissa” podcast that she is just taking in every moment.
“I think my goal is always kind of the same as last year,” Andrews began to Thompson. “Enjoy it, because it’s not going to last forever, especially when your contract is up – and mine is. Contract year, huge! So, contract year, election year, and what else is happening?
“I feel like I’m always so panicked leading up an hour before [game day], that I’m trying to recite some of [the information] and have it in my mind so it’s easy to say, which I’m not doing a good job of right now. So, I always feel prep is a thing I’m always trying to be really good about.”
Andrews signed a three-year contract extension with Fox Sports in 2022, which she did so “quietly.” Since then, there has not been any update on whether she will remain with Fox or if she will test the waters elsewhere.
For now, she will be working with Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady as part of Fox’s number one NFL team. Andrews had high praise for her new coworker, telling Jimmy Fallon: “We’ve actually talked to him in person. He’s so dreamy. And I can say that because we’re friends with him and also co-workers.”
